For almost 20 years, we have been exploring Europe's history – off the beaten path, across all eras.
During our tours and Ancient Tracks Camps at historically significant sites, we take a journey into the past together. We dive even deeper into history with Living History, bringing the world of the past to life.
Following the Tracks of History
For almost 20 years, we have been exploring our world – from the North Cape to the Mediterranean, from the Vikings to the Phoenicians.
We do not just follow well-known paths but seek out hidden stories off the modern roads: on Ancient Tracks.
With a backpack or a Jeep, alone or in company – our journeys take us across all terrains and through every era.
NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM
Sitting around the campfire in the shadow of a Roman fort. Looking out from the rooftop tent directly onto a medieval castle wall. At our Ancient Tracks Camps, we combine our two passions – travel and history – and offer you the chance to see the world from a new perspective.
Our camps take place at museums or historical sites, offering unique overnight locations. They are held in small groups, ensuring that, alongside the exciting program, there is plenty of time for socializing and engaging exchanges with like-minded overlanders.
Bringing History to Life
With authentic clothing and equipment, we bring past eras to life – this is called reenactment. It involves recreating historical daily life, professions, or events as accurately as possible to make history feel real.
We regularly visit our friends and acquaintances in their respective eras, work on joint projects, or simply enjoy spending time together – whether in a medieval camp or during a Roman marching drill. For us, it's the perfect blend of hobby, community, and living history.
The Team Behind Ancient Tracks
We are connected by more than just our shared interests – we live, work, and travel together. With Ancient Tracks, we bring our passions together into one great adventure.
As independent photo and video creators, we run a creative agency together, and some of our clients include museums. Through our work, we have had the opportunity to meet many fascinating people and be part of numerous exciting projects.
A trusted companion on many of our adventures: our Jeep Wrangler, which we have modified and optimized over the years to suit our needs.
He gets us safely to our destinations – through Icelandic fords to a Viking longhouse, along Danish beaches past the bunkers of the Atlantic Wall, and up into the Albanian mountains to an Illyrian hillfort.
We named him Hamilcar, after the Carthaginian general and father of the famous Hannibal, who led his army across the Alps.

"Ancient Tracks offers fantastic tours and camps with a historical context. It's not just for history enthusiasts – everyone will find something to enjoy! Shared experiences, great conversations, and fun are at the heart of it all. We'll be back! :-)"
"Last weekend, we had the opportunity to take part in the camp in Pohl. The location was absolutely amazing – our cars were parked right next to the reconstructed Roman Limes fort in Pohl. The organization, including the guided tour, was flawless. We had an incredible time! The two hosts are super friendly and truly passionate about what they do. We felt welcome from the very first moment and completely at home. This definitely won’t be our last time! :-D"
"It was an absolutely fantastic camp. Despite the rain, everyone was in great spirits, and Evi and Tobi did an amazing job organizing everything. We'll be back!"
